Microphone

In Microphone mode, a live input is used for the room session.\ The app listens to a selected audio source (for example, the room’s built-in or connected mic), identifies speakers in real time, and evaluates triggers as the conversation happens.

Use when: live meetings, interviews, panels, or any real-time event.\ What users see: choose a source, start session, then watch/control live detection and actions.

File Playback

In File Playback mode, Rooms runs on a chosen audio file instead of a live mic feed.\ The same speaker/trigger engine evaluates the recording as it plays, so you can test automations or replay scenarios without a live room.

Use when: rehearsals, testing trigger logic, or processing pre-recorded meetings.\ What users see: select an audio file, set playback speed, monitor playback, and control start/pause/stop while running.
